Course Summary

This course is designed for young people like you who might find a mainstream environment challenging but are keen to advance in education. It is a specialised provision tailored for young people with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties. You will be in the right environment to develop your confidence and self-esteem.

Course Details

The Level 2 Vocational Studies programme provides you with the opportunity to explore a range of vocational pathways while developing the essential skills needed for further education, training, or employment. Designed to build confidence, independence, and practical capability, the course introduces you to multiple sectors through engaging, hands-on units and real-world learning experiences.

You will broaden your understanding of different industries, improve your problem solving and communication skills, and begin identifying the vocational route that best suits your interests and future goals. This flexible, exploratory programme is ideal if you are ready to progress beyond a Level 1 qualification and want a supportive environment in which to prepare for more specialised study, apprenticeships, or entry-level employment.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment is ongoing and consistent throughout the year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. You will be assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and through the verification of completed portfolio units. The online PDP system allows you to log in and view your progress and targets so you are always aware of your individual achievement to date. Three progress reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that the assessment and review process continues to map individual progression.

Entry requirements

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, you are expected to show willingness to learn, participate in class and develop your skills.
