Course Summary

Gas engineering can be a very fulfilling career. The heating industry is moving at a fast pace making this an ideal course for those wishing to progress into the trade.

Course Details

You will plan the installation of plumbing and heating systems to include accurate measuring, marking, cutting, bending and jointing metallic and non metallic pipework.

We can provide training on the following appliances and equipment:

  • Boilers
  • Cookers
  • Fires
  • Ducted air heaters
  • Meters
  • Unvented Cylinders

How will it be delivered and assessed?

  • The course is assessed using theory exams, portfolio of evidence and practical observations in the centre. You are also required to complete an ACS assessment in the centre before the end point assessment of the level 3 qualification.

Entry requirements

You will need:

  • GCSE's at grade 4 or above in English and maths (or functional skills level 2)
  • Ideally a level 2 qualification in plumbing
  • A suitable Gas Safe registered employer who is competent in the areas you wish to undertake and is able to start you as an apprentice.

  • Individual employers will decide on the selection criteria for their apprentices, which typically includes the above. You will need to register your Gas Safety qualification on their register before being entered for your level 3 end point qualification.
