Course Summary

If you've previously studied Health & Social Care at Level 1 and want to develop a career in caring, nursing (or other health professions), or social care, this course is for you.

Course Details

You will have the opportunity to acquire the essential knowledge for the world of work, by developing skills such as planning, research and analysis, working with others, and effective communication.

This course comprises of four mandatory units:
* Human Lifespan Development
* Health and Social Care Values
* Effective Communication in Health and Social Care
* Healthy Living

You will also be required to complete some additional specialist units.

You can progress in to employment, or on to further education. You will have the opportunity to undertake some work placement.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Work is assessed by external exams, written assignments and presentations throughout the year. Students must also achieve satisfactory placement reports.

Entry requirements

You will need:

  • 4 or more GCSEs at grade 3 or higher, with English or maths at a grade 4 or higher.
  • A satisfactory DBS check
    Or:
  • A relevant Level 1 qualification, and having competed qualifications in English and maths
  • A satisfactory DBS check
