Course Summary
If you want to learn more about horses and work within the Equine industry, this introductory course is for you. Successful completion of this course may lead to employment or further education.
Course Details
Areas covered can include:
- Handling horses
- Grooming horses
- Mucking out and bedding down
- Feeding and watering horses
- Safe working practices
There may also be the opportunity to ride horses or our riding simulator.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
This programme is continually assessed by a combination of written tasks, projects and demonstration of competence in a range of practical tasks.
Entry requirements
Whilst there are no general grade entry requirements for our level 1 programmes, you will be expected to show:
- A good attitude towards learning and a willingness to progress, including in English and maths (if applicable)
- A keen interest in the subject and a commitment to working hard
You will be invited to an information session and applicant experience day (if you have been offered a place before May) before you start your course to help ensure this is the best course for you.
