Course Summary
Our new Motor Vehicle and Engineering course is a great starting point into the industry if you do not have any GCSEs, have never worked with a car before or you need to work on your English and / or Maths to progress further.
Course Details
This course will involve the equivalent of a full day in our specialist motor vehicle workshop which is kitted out exactly as you'd see in a commercial garage. The remaining sessions will cover theory of the subject, employability skills, personal progress on the course and both English and Maths.
Following this course, you can progress to our level 1 award in motor vehicle or, depending on your Maths and English results, a level 2 in either motor vehicle or engineering.
Entry requirements
You will need:
There are no entry requirements for this course but you will be expected to show:
- A good attitude towards learning and a willingness
to progress, including in English and Maths (if
applicable) - A keen interest in the subject and a commitment to
working hard
We will invite you to attend an information session and applicant experience day (if you have been offered a place before May) before you start your course to help ensure that this is the best course for you.
If you have or are working towards 3 grades 2s and above at GCSE (including English and Maths), you will be better suited to our Motor Vehicle & Engineering - Level 1 course.
