Geography

Students should submit applications by 19 December 2025.

Applications will remain open throughout the year and late applications will be considered; however, students should be aware that they may not receive their preferred choices if a late application is received.

Once applications have been received, all applicants will be invited for an interview to discuss their application and ensure that their subject choices are suitable.

If these are issues which interest you, then Geography could be the subject for you.

There are 3 sections to the course as follows:

• Physical Geography, including water and carbon cycles, coastal systems and landscapes, and natural hazards.
• Human Geography including global systems and governance, changing places, and population and the environment.
• Geographical Investigation which will be an individual investigation based on fieldwork.

5 GCSE passes at grade 5 or above including English and Maths. You will need a grade 6 in Geography.

A Level Geography allows for progression into a wide range of further education and career opportunities, which include Geography-related areas such as planning, architecture, environmental sciences, engineering, geology, and meteorology as well as a a wide range of other areas including law, business, accountancy and other humanities or science-based subjects.
